Community Guidelines

"There is room for different stories at the same table."

Table 1072 exists because recipes fade, but memories don't have to. We are a community of families, cooks, and storytellers from around the world — each bringing something different to the table. These guidelines help us keep that table welcoming, safe, and worth passing down.

Be Kind and Respectful

Treat every member with warmth. Behind every recipe is a person, a memory, and a story that matters to them.

Honor Every Family's Story

Every family and culture may tell its story differently. What feels familiar to you may be new to someone else — and vice versa. Approach differences with curiosity, not judgment.

No Harassment or Bullying

Do not harass, bully, threaten, or target members. Disagreement is natural; cruelty is not welcome at this table.

No Hate Speech

Do not post hate speech of any kind — toward any race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, orientation, or background. There is no seat for hate here.

No Dangerous Misinformation

Do not intentionally spread dangerous misinformation — especially about food safety, health, or allergens. When in doubt, say so honestly.

No Spam or Self-Promotion

Do not spam or repeatedly promote unrelated products or services. Sharing a product you genuinely love is wonderful; flooding the table with ads is not.

Respect Recipe Ownership

Respect recipe ownership and family stories. If a recipe belongs to someone else, credit them. Do not claim another person's work or family history as your own.

Protect Privacy

Do not post another person's private information — addresses, phone numbers, emails, or anything they haven't chosen to share publicly.

Keep It Family-Friendly

Keep content appropriate for a broad family community. If you wouldn't share it at a table with children and grandparents, it probably doesn't belong here.

Use the Report Feature

When something doesn't belong at the table, use the report feature. Our moderators review every report with care and discretion.

How Reporting Works

Every post, comment, and tradition on Table 1072 can be reported. When you report something, our moderation team reviews it carefully. We aim to act on every report within 24 hours. You can report anonymously, and your report is always confidential.
